Role Overview
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised.
The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment. Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.
Qualifications
* SVQ3 in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in cannulation and phlebotomy.
* Outpatient environment.
* Experience in Ophthalmology Clinics.
* Ability to plan and carry out investigations/patient care unsupervised.
Contract Type
Permanent, Full time, 37 hours.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in CSW Team within University Hospital Monklands. Applicants may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
