Inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services at provided at both Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley & South Ribble Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will provide exceptional clinical leadership in the provision of Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. and will also:
1. Participate in the Gastrointestinal Bleeding on-call rota.
2. Promote high standards of clinical care for patients, both through direct patient care and by maintaining their continuing professional development.
3. Be supported to develop their own specialist interests in line with the priorities of the department.
4. NOT be expected to support the GIM on call rota

Qualifications
Essential criteria
8. Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
9. MBBS or equivalent
10. MRCP
11. CCST in General Internal Medicine / Specialist Register entry within six months
Desirable criteria
12. MD or PhD
13. Evidence of ongoing personal / professional development.
Experience and Skills
Essential criteria
14. Recognised period of work in a specialist department treating upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions.
15. Ability to undertake clinical audit of work and apply findings to clinical work.
16. Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST.
17. Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
18. Ability to manage and lead a multi-professional team.
19. IT literate

20. JAG accredited olonoscopist.
