We currently have a vacancy for a Teacher of Mathematics - Raising Standards Lead.

Flexible Start Date: April 2026 or September 2026

Job Purpose:

Work in collaboration with the Deputy Headteacher - Mathematics Lead to:

1. Contribute to all aspects of departmental leadership and the monitoring of student progress.
2. Ensure that all students, including identified cohorts, achieve the highest possible standards.
3. Model exemplary professional practice and uphold high expectations across the department.
4. Use assessment data effectively to inform teaching and enhance student outcomes.
5. Provide targeted intervention and remove barriers to learning for underachieving students.
6. Support high-quality planning, assessment and feedback, including DIRT processes.
7. Promote a culture of collaboration, shared resources and constructive lesson observation.
8. Maintain effective communication with parents and staff.
9. Lead departmental CPD where appropriate.
10. Maintain strong visibility within the department and serve as a point of contact for staff and students.
11. Support and challenge members of the Mathematics department as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

12. Support the articulation, implementation and reinforcement of the departmental and whole-school vision.
13. Recommend and implement enhancements to teaching, learning and departmental practice.
14. Deliver structured and effective interventions to improve student performance in Mathematics.
15. Contribute to the monitoring of progress towards departmental attainment targets.
16. Support a robust self-evaluation framework aimed at raising standards.
17. Promote high expectations of progress for all students and uphold inclusive practice.
18. Ensure the effective implementation of key departmental and whole-school policies.
19. Support and develop staff through coaching, mentoring and modelling of best practice.
20. Provide constructive professional feedback to colleagues to ensure strong student outcomes.
21. Ensure appropriate provision for vulnerable and SEND students.
22. Communicate professionally with parents and contribute to departmental and whole-school INSET.
23. Uphold and exemplify the values and ethos of the school.
