Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? Our education agency is currently recruiting for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive special needs school in Didsbury on a full-time basis.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils with complex learning needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism, and associated medical or physical needs.
The Role:
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide tailored, hands-on support to students throughout the school day. This may include assisting with personal care and supporting pupils with sensory or communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
Assist with personal care and daily routines where required
Support communication using tools such as PECS, Makaton, or other strategies
Help implement individual education and care plans
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamRequirements:
Experience working with children or young people with complex needs (preferred)
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
Comfortable supporting personal care needs
Strong teamwork and communication skills
