Year 2 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Atherton)
Start Date: After February Half Term
A welcoming and supportive primary school in Atherton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team from after February half term.
This role is ideal for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children in Key Stage 1, particularly pupils with complex additional needs, including autism.
The Role:
* Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
* Working closely with pupils with complex additional needs, particularly autism, providing tailored support throughout the school day
* Supporting individual pupils and small groups to access learning and achieve their full potential
* Assisting with behaviour regulation, emotional support, and sensory needs
* Helping to maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
* Supporting with classroom preparation and general organisation
The Ideal Candidate:
* Has proven experience and confidence working with pupils with complex additional needs, particularly autism
* Demonstrates a calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
* Has experience supporting pupils on EHCPs and implementing individual support strategies
* Communicates effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals
* Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
