With a BRCGS Food Safety AA rating, this site based in Antrim area has built a strong reputation for quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. They're proud of their tight-knit, collaborative team and are now looking to bring on a Technical Assistant to support ongoing food safety and quality assurance activities. This is a practical, hands-on role that would suit someone looking to build their technical knowledge in a high-performing meat processing environment. You'll play a key part in supporting the Food Safety and Quality team, helping ensure the business maintains its exceptional standards across BRCGS, customer, and regulatory requirements. What your day to day will look like: Support the delivery of the site's Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS). Conduct routine quality checks on product, temperature, hygiene, and traceability. Assist in BRCGS and regulatory audits and inspection preparation. Maintain accurate and detailed records across all technical activities. Collect and coordinate sampling for microbiological, water, and shelf-life testing. Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints with clear root cause analysis. Participate in internal audits (GMP, hygiene, traceability) and track corrective actions. Assist with training staff on hygiene, SOPs, and food safety procedures. Support the review and update of product specs and supplier approvals. Collaborate with production and management to embed a strong food safety culture. What you'll need to succeed: Background or qualification in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related discipline. Previous experience in a food production or technical role (ideally meat or FMCG). A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the confidence to work on the factory floor. Understanding of BRCGS and food safety standards would be highly beneficial.
