Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting for a Lead Civil Engineer to join the Anglian Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Lead Civil Engineer?
You will provide engineering technical direction, collaborate with key stakeholders, and support multi-disciplinary project teams. Your responsibilities include providing design support for various non-infrastructure schemes, ensuring all designs are fit for purpose, compliant with legislation and standards, and completed on time and within budget.
In this role, Water Non-Infrastructure projects typically relate to potable water assets within water treatment works or storage sites. A key aspect involves leading, coaching, and developing junior and less experienced engineers.
Key responsibilities:
1. Review civil design deliverables produced by other engineers to ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
2. Participate in Construction Design Management (CDM) and commissioning strategy meetings.
3. Review and ensure completion of design CDM deliverables for projects.
4. Maintain technical knowledge and share across the civil engineering team.
5. Ensure compliance with Minimum Asset Standards and challenge when necessary.
6. Establish technical standards and processes across project areas and the Pan-Alliance.
7. Implement digital technologies to achieve fully attributed 3D models.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to engineers.
9. Develop design alerts to promote continuous learning and improvement.
Skills, experience, and behaviours:
1. Degree in engineering (or equivalent), ideally chartered or working towards it.
2. Expertise in reinforced concrete, steel buildings, buried pipework, and site infrastructure.
3. Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
4. Passion for health, safety, and innovative design solutions.
