We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join our clients manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies, supporting high-speed 5-axis machining of automotive components in a fast-paced production environment. Available is a competitive salary of over £40K and good working hours and holiday provision.
Work Hours: 37.5 hours on double days
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily production and resolve machining issues
* Set and optimise CNC machines for performance and quality
* Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting
* Monitor part quality and adjust offsets to maintain capability
* Prove out new CNC programs, tooling, and fixtures
* Manage tooling, tool life, and investigate breakages
* Drive TPM and 5S initiatives across the shop floor
* Develop and maintain process documentation and standards
* Train, mentor, and support CNC setters and operators
* Promote HSE standards across the department
Essential Requirements
* Apprentice trained or formally qualified in CNC machining
* Proven experience setting CNC machines in a production environment
* Strong experience with 5-axis machining (aluminium preferred)
* Machining Centres / Milling Machines
* Knowledge of G & M code programming (Siemens controllers advantageous)
* Strong understanding of tooling and fixture design
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
* Experience training or mentoring others
Desirable Skills
* ABB robot operation/programming
* Knowledge of straightening processes
* Experience implementing 5S / lean manufacturing
