About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for a Registered Manager to open and lead a brand-new EBD children’s home in the Bridgwater (TA6) area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to take the next step—to shape a new service from the ground up, build a passionate care team, and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and registration of the new 4-bed EBD home.
2. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 7–9 care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
3. Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 5.
4. Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and behaviour management to support positive outcomes for young people.
5. Build effective relationships with external professionals, families, and placing authorities.
6. Drive performance, occupancy, and quality within the home.
7. Promote a culture of care, respect, and ambition for both staff and residents.
About You
8. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
9. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care standards.
10. Previous experience managing or deputising within an EBD setting.
11. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
12. Passionate about creating a supportive, child-centred home with a focus on positive outcomes.
13. Able to lead by example and inspire a new team.
