Teacher - SEMH Specialist School
Location: Shepshed, Leicestershire (LE12)
Salary: 31,650 - 43,607 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Long Term Futures are seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join a specialist school in Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a supportive, high-staffing environment, delivering a curriculum adapted to the needs of children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). You'll work alongside skilled Teaching Assistants, therapists, and behaviour support staff.
The School:
The school provides a calm, consistent, and nurturing setting for children aged 4-16 who face barriers to learning due to SEMH needs. With small class sizes, a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and a strong therapeutic ethos, the team work collaboratively to design personalised learning pathways that address both academic and emotional development.
The Role:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
* Create a structured classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behaviour
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and leadership staff to maximise pupil progress
* Implement trauma-informed and relational behaviour strategies
* Track progress, adapt planning, and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families
What We're Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
* Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or SEMH
* Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
* A commitment to inclusive, therapeutic, and child-centred education
