About the Role
Sheridan Maine is working with a forward-thinking and growing accountancy and tax advisory firm in Watford to recruit a Mixed Tax Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a modern practice that combines technical excellence with a collaborative, client-focused approach. The firm continues to expand its tax offering and is looking for someone who can support both compliance and advisory work across a varied client base. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax services, supporting senior team members, and helping to ensure an excellent client experience.
Key Responsibilities of the Mixed Tax Supervisor
* Prepare complex personal, partnership, trust, and corporate tax returns
* Review tax returns prepared by junior team members
* Support a range of tax compliance filings including P11D submissions, PSAs, ATED returns, Form 42 and EMI40 returns
* Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines and obligations are met
* Liaise with clients to resolve queries and coordinate HMRC submissions
* Draft responses to HMRC correspondence and enquiry notices
* Support tax planning work including areas such as Capital allowances, HMRC clearances, R&D claims, Share schemes and SEIS/EIS investments (under supervision)
* Work closely with senior tax professionals to deliver advisory projects
Qualifications
* ATT, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent experience)
* About 3+ years of experience in a tax-focused practice role
* Ideally part-qualified CTA or keen to work towards CTA (training support provided)
* Strong technical understanding of UK tax compliance
* Confident reviewing work and managing deadlines
* Good communication and client relationship skills
* Strong IT skills and attention to detail
* A collaborative team player with a proactive approach
