Your new roleAs a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You'll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. This is a great opportunity to build strong relationships with schools and gain valuable experience-especially for ECTs looking to broaden their classroom exposure. Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising lessons across a range of subjects using provided resources.
* Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.
* Ensuring a calm, respectful, and productive learning environment.
* Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.
Who this role is perfect for:We're looking for individuals who:
* Have previous experience working in a secondary school classroom-either as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or Teacher.
* Are Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain experience and build confidence before securing a permanent role.
* Are confident, adaptable, and able to manage behaviour effectively.
* Can build rapport quickly and maintain a professional classroom presence.
Please note:This role is not suitable for applicants without prior classroom experience.What you'll need to succeed
* Experience working with secondary-aged students in a school setting.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* A calm, confident, and professional approach.
* A genuine interest in supporting young people's learning.
