An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Child & Family Worker to join the Family Help department of the Children’s Service. Family Matters is a preventative service which encompasses teams of family workers supporting families at level 3/4 on the continuum of need. We’re looking for people who will contribute towards ensuring all our children, young people and families receive the right level of support at the right time.
About The Role
As a family worker you will be responsible for managing a case load of families, some of whom may have a social worker as part of the support being offered, or it could be that you as the family worker are coordinating that support alongside other involved colleagues, such as education or health.
About The Candidate
The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of safeguarding practices and demonstrable experience of working with families with complex needs. You should be adept at quickly building rapport and gaining trust from those you are working with and have children and families at the heart of everything you do.
Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of families, coordinating support alongside other professionals (education, health, social workers where applicable).
* Contribute to ensuring the right level of support is provided at the right time for children, young people and families.
* Work within safeguarding guidelines to protect and promote the welfare of children.
Qualifications
* Good working knowledge of safeguarding practices.
* Experience of working with families with complex needs.
* Ability to quickly build rapport and gain trust with children and families.
