A renowned West Midlands-based architects practice is seeking a motivated and experienced CDM Principal Designer / Health & Safety Advisor to be a part of their expanding CDM department. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive professional to shape the future of the department, while delivering a diverse portfolio of local and national projects across both the public and private sectors.
Key Tasks
Act as both CDM Principal Designer and Health & Safety Advisor across all work stages.
Plan, manage, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction hazards and implement effective risk mitigation strategies using the principles of prevention.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare CDM documentation, write reports, attend meetings, review designs, manage risks, and oversee office administration.
Conduct health and safety design reviews during both design and construction phases.
Adopt clear and effective communication between all project duty holders. Compile project-specific health and safety files.
Requirements
Degree in construction or H&S related discipline.
NEBOSH, CMIOSH, or APS professional qualification.
Strong CDM/H&S knowledge and construction/design experience.
