About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain cleanliness, and ensure food safety. Your focus will be on Resident wellbeing, demonstrating high standards in hygiene and food safety, managing food supplies, and assisting new starters with equipment use.
We look for candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for one. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, following recipes, and being considerate and kind in communication are essential.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to act or escalate concerns. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed.
