IT Systems Lead Birmingham Full-time | Office-based An established, international organisation is seeking an experienced IT Systems Lead to take ownership of UK IT operations and act as the key link between local teams and Group ICT. This is a hands-on, standalone role offering the opportunity to shape, support and enhance technology across the business while ensuring alignment with global standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining secure, reliable and efficient IT systems that support operational success. The Role Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead and coordinate all UK IT activities, acting as the primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders and Head Office ICT. This position combines operational IT management, user support, cybersecurity oversight and systems optimisation. Key Responsibilities IT Operations & Infrastructure Oversee and maintain UK IT infrastructure including servers, networks, switches, CCTV and access control systems (with external providers). Provide first-line IT support, resolving hardware, software and networking issues efficiently. Deploy, configure and enrol new devices and systems. Maintain telephony systems and local network installations. Support core business systems including ERP, CRM (Salesforce), WMS and other operational platforms. Act as first point of contact for key system issues. Cybersecurity & Compliance Ensure adherence to group IT policies and security standards. Maintain Cyber Essentials accreditation and promote cybersecurity best practice. Safeguard data integrity and secure information handling. Maintain and support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans. Systems & Digital Development Support implementation and optimisation of ERP, CRM and digital tools. Partner with department heads to introduce practical digital improvements. Assist with rollout of group-led IT initiatives in the UK. Monitor system performance and user adoption. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Act as the main UK contact for Group ICT. Manage relationships with external IT suppliers and service providers. Support IT setup for office expansions or new site launches. Translate technical issues into clear, practical guidance for non-technical colleagues. About You Degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 2 years experience in an operational IT environment. Strong understanding of networks, infrastructure and hardware deployment. Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused.
