We have an exciting opportunity to join the established, collaborative and dynamic Peer Review Administration (PRA) Team. The PRA Team is responsible for managing the peer review and article acquisition process for journals across a range of subject areas.

About the role

Your focus will be managing the peer review process of a set portfolio of journals in a wide variety of STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) subject areas.

The tasks are varied and typically will include, but not limited to:

1. Standard administrative tasks related to a list of journals, including building and maintaining key stakeholder relations and collaboration.
2. Researching and proposing innovative development and efficiencies.
3. Working collaboratively and effectively with the PRA Team through best-practice sharing, discussion contribution.
4. Expert point of contact: being the central point-of-contact for any queries related to any stage of manuscript processing from pre- to post- peer-review.

About you

You will be a well-organised individual with a passion for data management, accuracy, and excellent communication skills. You will seek to build on an existing understanding of academic journals publishing and progress their career.

To be successful in this role, you will work pro-actively and autonomously, ensuring smooth peer review processing, whilst continuing to provide efficiencies accordingly.

Essential Knowledge:

5. Knowledge of submission platforms (preferably ScholarOne Manuscripts and Editorial Manager); talented in use of systems and software; extensive knowledge of publishing workflows and processes including peer review.
6. Proven skills in delivering training.
7. IT skills with proficiency in Office .

Essential Skills & Experience:

8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with effective and professional communication.
9. Strong organisation and time management skills.
