About the Role MidKent College is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to take on the role of Director of MIS & Exams. This is a pivotal position, overseeing the management of the College’s Management Information Systems (MIS) and Examinations functions, ensuring data accuracy, compliance with FE funding requirements, and excellence in service delivery. The successful candidate will lead on the preparation of statutory ILR returns, funding claims, and ESFA/DFE submissions, while ensuring the integrity of all data and processes. You will also drive innovation and best practice across MIS and Exams, supporting the College’s strategic objectives and enhancing student experience. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the College’s MIS and Exams departments, setting and driving quality improvements. * Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory ILR returns, funding claims, and other ESFA/DFE reporting requirements. * Monitor learner attendance, retention, and achievement data, ensuring the development of accurate interventions and reporting. * Manage departmental budgets, forecasting and monitoring expenditure in line with College financial policies. * Ensure compliance with GDPR and all relevant legislative and funding requirements. * Develop, implement and maintain robust systems to support admissions, course set-up, timetabling, registers, and exams. * Provide strategic management reports and recommendations to senior leaders. * Lead and develop a high-performing team, managing recruitment, training, performance, and workload allocation. * Contribute to business planning and ensure MIS and Exams functions align with College priorities. About You We are looking for an individual with: * Significant leadership experience in Further Education (FE), specifically within MIS, Exams, and data management. * A strong understanding of FE funding rules, ILR requirements, and ESFA returns. * Proven ability to manage budgets, drive improvements, and deliver against strategic targets. * Excellent knowledge of MIS systems, data integrity, and compliance requirements. * Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
