Job Purpose
To provide a full cleaning and domestic services to the Home promoting high standards of cleanliness.
Principal Accountabilities and Activities
· To ensure that the home is kept clean and odour free at all times. Following cleaning schedules, documenting, and following infection control and prevention protocols and practices.
· To work in conjunction with care staff to change and sort linen, towels and curtains and undertake linen checks, ensuring bedrooms are well presented.
· To ensure that resident's rooms and public areas are in very good order, reporting any faults, e.g. defective light bulbs, worn carpets, broken fittings.
· To look after and clean housekeeping equipment and machinery and ensure the economical and correct use of cleaning materials.
· To attend staff meetings and training where appropriate.
· To assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment, be particularly mindful of trailing vacuum leads.
· To follow COSHH and health and safety at work regulations.
· Duty to whistleblow if witness bad practice or harm to a resident within the home
· Carry out appraisals of staff, identify training needs to meet IIP programme.
