Senior Manager – Capital Allowances Specialist
Location: United Kingdom – Scotland
Role and Responsibilities
Client‑facing individual, responsible for building internal and external relationships to win projects and drive sales growth independently and as part of the market team.
Lead engagement teams locally and nationally to prepare capital allowances claims, elections and allowance statements.
Model technical quality and service delivery through leading by example in client relationships.
Lead projects and solve problems by advising clients on the application of complex legislation to real‑life situations.
Co‑coach and develop junior staff, providing ongoing guidance and skill development.
Progress business‑development opportunities and pitch for work with both new and existing clients.
Deliver comprehensive proposals and participate in presentations/pitches as required.
Ensure the junior engagement team keeps documentation up‑to‑date and manages their workload effectively.
Share knowledge across the team and proactively manage business‑development opportunities.
Provide technical assistance to other parts of the firm.
Skills and Qualifications
Tax, accounting, or surveying qualification.
Strong academic background.
In‑depth knowledge of capital allowances tax legislation.
Experience managing a junior team.
Excellent problem‑solving, critical‑thinking and communication skills; ability to lead capital allowance discussions and explain complex legislative concepts.
Capacity to review reports produced by junior colleagues to ensure high‑quality delivery.
Demonstrated project‑management experience and ability to independently manage workload while delegating to staff.
While not essential, tax and accounting qualifications such as CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent are welcome.
