Our client, a prominent council within the highways sector, is currently seeking a Traffic Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The role involves working on traffic and road safety schemes, contributing to the design, implementation, and improvement of traffic services. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the team, carrying out technical functions as required. Design, implement, and improve traffic services in accordance with council policy. Act as a spokesperson on engineering and traffic matters when requested. Assist in the project management of assigned projects, from conception through to implementation and monitoring. Coordinate work programmes and schedules for assigned functional areas, providing technical guidance and training where necessary. Develop, design, and implement measures to enhance and maintain the highway network and infrastructure. Ensure actions comply with the council's quality standards and policies, as well as relevant legislation and procedures. Assist in preparing advice to senior management and the council on new or draft legislation and technical developments.
