Requirements
You will have a Degree in Music Education/Performance or relevant professional experience, professional music qualifications and LTCL, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
You will teach children and young people from primary school to upper secondary and, in addition, present pupils for SQA examinations.
The Individual
You should have proven and successful experience working with children and young people, leading learning in pipe band snare, tenor and bass drumming, evidence of knowledge of music curriculum development in Scotland, and personal professional development in a wide range of areas.
You will also be an excellent and experienced musician, with knowledge of the music circuit nationally, and of appropriate repertoire for all stages of pupil development. You will be able to work unsupervised, under pressure, and to work between multiple ages/stages and across settings.
You will be willing to keep up to date and learn, and to participate fully in the life of the Children and Families Service Arts and Cultural activities.
A current driving licence is required.
This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
