Introduction
* You must have reliable transportation as this location is not accessible via public transportation such as Metro Access, Metro Bus, or Rail.
* This position is located in Cheltenham, MD at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC).
* The core working hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
* The pay rate is $17.74 per hour.
* This position requires a criminal background check, drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
* Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
* Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash properly.
* Dust horizontal surfaces.
* Empty and wash ashtrays.
* Clean bathrooms.
* Wax and buff floors with prescribed buffers.
* Clean glass and windows.
* Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
* Sweep and clear snow from outside steps and sidewalks.
* Polish kick panels, doorknobs, and other fixtures.
* Strip and wax floors.
* Vacuum rugs.
* Mix cleaning solutions.
* Maintain issued equipment.
* Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by the Custodial Foreman.
Physical Qualifications
* Must be able to stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%.
* Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50 pounds.
* Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
* These skills are necessary for using ladders and stairs, and cleaning various areas.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
* Must have good vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors for safety and chemical identification.
Qualifications
* Minimum of six months of experience.
* Ability to learn and perform essential functions.
* Must pass security clearance for designated contracts.
