The specific role of the Material Analyst role within the Planning organisation is: To lead and own material management of innovation and brand change projects to support the demanding brand change agenda across a wide network of collaborators globally across Diageo and externally, whilst supporting Scorecard metrics including Service, Cost and Cash. The Analyst leads materials management for over 300 innovation and brand change projects annually. Their responsibility spans across various Packaging Sites and external 3rd party reworkers for Innovations, Renovations, Supply & Ops, Campaign/VAP and New to Market/Graphic Updates. To drive execution of complex projects including multi-brand and site from a materials perspective by making authoritative decisions to support project requirements and financial metrics as well as having a direct impact on project related metrics including timeline adherence. End to end ownership of materials per project with accountability for spend against project budget and write off. Role Responsibilities This key responsibilities of the Materials Analyst are: Manage dry goods materials in support of the brand change agenda, to ensure best in class service to our 21 markets whilst supporting PM's to deliver against timelines and project targets. Provide excellent customer service to all key collaborators by establishing and maintaining an effective relationship with teams including Make, Move, Plan, Procurement, TCE, Global Suppliers and 3rd Party Rework Sites. Manage vendor collaboration, providing material requirements and phased delivery plans. Provide clear and accurate updates to Project Team on material availability. Accurate data set up for new components based on project requirements. Liaise with Material Planners on the long-term materials portfolio, providing independent demand volume information on new and existing components to allow for continuity of supply. Analyse and phase materials with a cost-effective decision-making responsibility, considering MOQ's, pallet quantities, logistical costs and operational impact. Managing material depletion in line with project budget to minimise cost impact to Diageo. Balance cost of smaller volume ad-hoc orders vs larger MOQ and write off costs Manage project close downs to reduce inventory risk. Review inventory and see opportunities to use materials or push for project budgets to write off. The Material Analyst framework spans over the whole Diageo portfolio of spirit products and operates across a wide network of collaborators globally across Diageo and externally including suppliers based in Europe, China and the US. This role is the key interface for Material Planning of Project related materials covering up to 4 Packaging Sites, external 3rd party reworkers alongside the complexity of managing Global Suppliers. To allow for continuity of supply across our BAU materials, the Material Analyst's remit is to be assigned to the most complex projects whereby they control the availability and ordering of all new components. Authority to make decisions to support project requirements Driving execution of projects and proactively leading materials management. Approving project closedowns from a materials perspective to ensure lowest inventory risk Owning material management of innovation and brand change projects to support the demanding brand change agenda. Materials Management ensuring availability of materials in accordance to the project requirements and timeline. Vendor Management Establishing and maintaining effective relationships, to ensure provision of material requirements. Inventory Management - Critical control of material depletion in line with project budget, providing recommendations on how to minimise cost impact to Diageo. Material Planning Support - ensure smooth transition to business as usual for new launches considering supply constraints and securing materials for future demand. Experience, Skills & Capabilities Required Excellent excel skills and ability to interrogate data Critical thinking required with ability to manage trade offs Proactively identify and resolve issues Strong communication skills to work with project managers, suppliers, procurement and market and supply planning. Excellent arithmetic skills Influencing skills and experience of stakeholder management Strong prioritisation and planning skills Acutely organised and concise in delivery of reporting Proficient use of SAP DEP Ideal candidates would have end to end Supply Chain Experience with knowledge of the Innovation and Brand Change environment and Material Planning.
