A well‑established business in Ascot is seeking a proactive andmercially minded accountant to join their team full‑time in the office.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a close‑knit environment, enjoys variety, and wants to be at the heart of an organisation’s financial operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Managing daily accounting operations including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journals, and month‑end tasks
2. Producing accurate financial reports to support leadership decision‑making
3. Handling VAT returns and ensuringpliance with UK accounting standards
4. Managing UK movement of goods processes including documentation,pliance, and cost tracking
5. Overseeing cashflow and supporting budgeting and forecasting
6. Working closely with operational teams to streamline processes and improve financial visibility
7. Supporting year‑end preparation and liaising with external accountants
What We’re Looking For
8. Experience in an SME finance environment where you’ve been involved in broad, hands‑on accounting
9. Strong operational accounting skills with confidence managing day‑to‑day finance
10. Proficiency with Xero (essential)
11. Solid VAT knowledge and experience with UK movement of goods
12. A relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA – part‑qualified or qualified)
13. A proactive, detail‑driven mindset with the ability to work independently
