Description Job Description: Class Teacher Location: St William of York Catholic Primary School, Brockley Park, SE23 1PS Contract Type: Full-time (Fixed-Term) Salary: M1 – U3 Hours: 27.5 hours Reporting to: Headteacher About the Role We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our team at St William of York Catholic Primary School. Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, school’s planning and schemes of work. • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of the pupils in your class. • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all children are encouraged to learn and thrive. • Manage behaviour effectively to establish a calm and safe learning environment for all pupils. • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership to enhance teaching practices and support school initiatives. • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and well-being. • Uphold school policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and behaviour management. • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required. • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school. The Ideal Candidate will have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). • Experience teaching in a primary school setting and supporting pupils with SEND. • Strong understanding of the curriculum and pedagogy. • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills. • A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. • A reflective approach to professional practice and a desire for continuous improvement. • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
