Job Description
An exciting job role exists in the Cyber and Security Team as the Security Performance Management and Lessons lead. This role works within the inclusive and innovative Cyber and Security team, and will lead the drive to improve security culture and outcomes in the Army, as well as the outputs of the Counter Intelligence and Security Branch. This is a new role and team, meaning the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape Army security, making it fit for the future threat landscape.
As the Security Performance Management and Lessons Analysis you will manage the development of security lessons and data analysis process and any relevant tooling needed to support those processes. Drawing on the outputs of these processes, and other sources of security, counter intelligence, and resilience data, you will measure the performance of the branch, and security compliance and culture within the Army, against relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The successful candidate must be comfortable engaging with wider Defence, Government, and industry. Occasional travel within the UK will be required but this will rarely demand overnight stays.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include:
* Own, write and review Army policy and processes for all aspects of Security Performance Management and Lessons analysis, including security lessons escalation and management through the Army, keeping up to date with changes to policy and legislation that may affect branch outputs
* Develop and maintain relevant tooling, ensuring compatibility and integration with wider Army and Defence tooling, where relevant
* Draw on various security, counter intelligence, and resilience data sources to measure the performance of the branch, and security compliance and culture within the Army
* Engage with Army and Defence counter parts to drive improvement across the relevant functions
* Develop, maintain and implement a training & development plain for all members of the Security Performance Management and Lessons analysis team
* Draw on the outputs of the Security Performance Management and Lessons Analyst to fulfil the role of Functional Lessons Analyst for security lessons
* Advise the Personnel Security Advisor (PSyA) in their role as the release authority for Army security incident data
* Prepare responses to Subject Access Requests (SARs), Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Ministerial Questions (MQs), Parliamentary Questions (PQs), in relation to security incidents, and staff through Army Secretariat in accordance with relevant processes
* Responsible for drafting responses to requests for security, counter intelligence and resilience data and information, including FOI's, MQs, PQs, criminal and civil investigations and advising the Principal Security Advisor in their role as the release authority
* Provide input to and peer review relevant content in Army and Defence training, education and awareness materials
* Support Army and Defence intervention activities
* Support Army Security Culture improvement activities
* Lead the Security Performance Management and Lessons Analysis team, regularly reviewing and providing direction on priorities and standards
* Provide written and verbal briefs up to Ministerial level, as appropriate

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can handle the pressure of coordinating a wide range of activities and should be comfortable working to drive improvements to physical, personnel, information and cyber security culture, and performance across security, counter intelligence and resilience activities. Applicants should be willing to challenge established norms and processes, be prepared to adapt to changing priorities, have effective written and verbal communication skills and display a positive and professional attitude. Good judgement and strong interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work under pressure.
