Role details:
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, the Senior Estimator will play a key role in the work winning/preconstruction team. The Senior Estimator must be a proven work winner with excellent analytical and client management skills, able to interpret and respond to complex technical specifications, develop and present design concepts to clients and other interested stakeholders and support all aspects of the technical tender design, bid preparation and tender documentation.
Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Supervision and mentoring of other members of the work winning/pre-construction team.
Managing enquiries in accordance with Bauer Technologies policies and procedures.
Formulate well founded solutions to complex geotechnical problems, employing the various techniques utilised by Bauer Technologies.
Actively seeks alternative solutions, as appropriate, to maximise chances of winning work.
Identify risk and put measures in place to mitigate within the tendering process and beyond.
Seek out solutions with demonstrable sustainability benefits.
Establish and maintain client and supplier relationships.
Conduct in accordance with Bauer’s Values and the principles of FREDIE.

Initiative and drive to sell the value in using Bauer Technologies.
Negotiation and selling skills to convert a tender into an order.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:
Relevant degree qualified. Post graduate degree in Geotechnics would be advantageous.
Experience of UK geotechnical industry with a major specialist contractor.
Experience of NEC Subcontracts.
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Teams, Word, Project & Excel).
