Job Responsibilities/Objectives
In this role, you will assist in upgrading the Elastic DP estate to Kubernetes, moving away from obsolete technology (Cloudera), upgrading to RHEL 8, and contributing to improving stability and observability of the platform. You will provide advanced analytics tooling and services for modeling analytics, working across continuous integration, development, build, and deployment using automation and cloud technologies to support the growth of DevOps tooling.
* Migration of existing applications to Cloud and building new applications on Cloud.
* Build automation jobs for CI/CD development, build, and deployment of applications on Cloud.
* Build and support Cloud platforms (internal/external) and complex multi-tiered infrastructure environments. Work with cutting-edge CI/CD technologies, identify improvements, and collaborate with multiple teams to implement them.
* Work with a broad infrastructure technology stack including Linux, Windows, RDBMS, Networks, JBOSS, Micro-Service Architecture.
* Build test environments, support, and resolve issues.
* Ensure seamless DevOps delivery of infrastructure changes from development to production.
Essential Skills
* Strong scripting and integration skills (e.g., Shell, Python, Chef, Perl)
* Build engineering and automation of deployments
* DevOps tooling: Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, JIRA, Stash, GIT, TeamCity, Nolio
* Cloud technologies: OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
* Deploying and configuring JBOSS, SpringBoot, etc.
* Strong Jenkins experience managing CI/CD pipelines
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of microservice architecture APIs
* Good infrastructure, app server (JBoss), and database knowledge
* Active Directory (AD) Authentication and Integration
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
* Monitoring and analytics tools: App Dynamics, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana), Splunk
* Understanding of code quality and security gates (SonarQube, etc.)
* Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
Required Skills/Experience
* Support background - L2/L3 with experience in production application support in AWS
* Experience in incident and change management
* Experience deploying and releasing applications and infrastructure in production following run books
* Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Java
* Availability for on-call support on a rotational basis
* Proactive attitude and excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
