As a Registered Manager, you will inspire and lead a dedicated team, creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children can thrive.
What you'll do as a Registered Manager:
Ensuring a safe and supportive home environment
* Maintain a physically safe and high-quality home environment for children.
* Undertake the manager's health and safety responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Foster links with the community, enabling children to actively participate in community life.
Care planning and child support
* Complete impact assessments and matching documentation for new placements.
* Oversee the placement of children and young people, ensuring their care and support needs are met daily.
* Develop, implement, and review individual placement plans, working closely with key workers.
* Regularly contribute to placement plan reviews and looked-after child reviews, supporting children to participate in the process.
* Ensure comprehensive plans are in place for young people preparing to leave care.
Staff management and development
* Recruit, train, and develop a small, motivated team to deliver outstanding care.
* Prepare and circulate staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
* Supervise, induct, and appraise staff, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
* Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere among staff and residents.
* Participate in the Manager On Call rota to provide support as required.
Operational leadership
* Manage budgets and source services to meet the home's needs.
* Keep accurate records and paperwork in line with policies, regulations, standards, and contracts.
* Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensure services are aligned with the home's Statement of Purpose and deliver consistent outcomes.
Safeguarding and welfare
* Ensure all staff and children are aware of procedures for raising complaints or concerns.
* Safeguard the welfare of children and report any concerns, including staff behavior or potential abuse.
What we're looking for
* Qualifications:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young People's Residential Management) – or equivalent (please check Social Care Wales).
* Experience: Proven track record in managing children's residential care services.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
* Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Enhanced DBS check.
