English Teacher (Glossop)

About the Role:
Do you have a passion for English literature and language? Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a secondary school in Glossop from September 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, helping them build their English skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engaging Lesson Planning: Create and deliver thought-provoking and creative English lessons that stimulate a passion for reading and writing.
* GCSE Preparation: Guide students in preparing for their English GCSE exams, including both Language and Literature components.
* Assessment & Feedback: Monitor student progress through regular assessments, provide feedback, and adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs.
* Classroom Management: Ensure high standards of behaviour and engagement throughout lessons, fostering a positive classroom environment.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the English department to contribute to curriculum development and share best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 levels.
* Experience with GCSE preparation, particularly in English.
* A passion for English and the ability to inspire students to develop their literacy skills.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
