Learning Support Assistant (fixed-term maternity cover, 30 hours per week, 45.8 weeks per annum)
Salary
Grade 3 – £25,583 pro rata. 30 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum, equating to £18,220.72 pro rata, rising to 46.8 weeks, £18,618.55 pro rata per annum after 5 years’ service.
Job Summary
Working under the direction of the ALNCo or subject teacher, you will provide support to pupils aged 11‑18 with learning/physical disabilities in mainstream and small group lessons. This can involve assisting the teacher through participation in class/group/individual lessons, contributing to delivery of IEPs under the direction of the subject teacher, or working one‑to‑one with a specific pupil.
Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons for pupils with learning/physical disabilities.
* Participate in class, group, and individual lessons as directed.
* Contribute to the delivery of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) under the direction of the subject teacher.
* Work one‑to‑one with specific pupils when required.
* Support safeguarding and adhere to the Council's safeguarding policy.
Requirements & Qualities
* A good standard of education and an understanding of children/young peoples' needs and rights.
* Experience working with children.
* Desire, determination and skills to meet the challenges of this role.
Qualifications & Checks
* DBS certificate required.
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required.
* DBS disclosure check will be conducted.
