Fabric Shift Engineer
Shift pattern: 3 days, 3 nights, 4 off, 4 days, 6 off, 4 nights (7AM to 7PM, 7PM to 7AM)
Responsibilities
* To provide an outstanding reactive and planned fabric maintenance service across the hospital site to ensure the building is kept in a safe and well-maintained state.
* To deliver a flexible, productive and efficient response in delivering a wide range of property and improvement work within specified timescales and to agreed standards.
* Ensure all PPMs issued are completed thoroughly and on time
Person Specification
* The Fabric Shift Engineer shall work within the Maintenance Team reporting to the Fabric Supervisor and The Building & Fabric Manager. The Fabric Shift Engineer shall be technically qualified in a trade discipline (carpentry, painting & decoration, light construction) and experienced in performing operational and maintenance duties in large building complexes. Previous experience of working on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance is essential.
* Appropriate City and Guilds Certificate and/or Craft Apprenticeship, has received some training in Condition Based Maintenance, good knowledge of Health & Safety appertaining to maintenance in occupied premises. To have basic knowledge regarding building regulations, Fire door maintenance (preferred).
* The ideal candidate would be a multi-skilled tradesman with a bias towards joinery work, and an ability to rectify a variety of faults.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following skill-set:
* Joinery biased repairs (this would include locks/ironmongery)
* Fire door repairs/maintenance
* Decorating experience.
* A knowledge of basic PPM tasks
* Provide support to the wider Maintenance Team when called upon.
* Provide cover to support the Building Fabric Tradespersons when required.
* Undertake any related additional duties as reasonably required by Senior Management.
