Clear Links Support is recruiting for One-to-One Study Skills Specialists to support to students with an autism spectrum condition studying in Dundee.

You will be working with students to provide strategies to develop the study skills required when studying in higher education. This includes skills in acquiring, recalling, and retaining information in written and spoken language, and strategies to develop memory, organisation, attention, and numeracy skills.

Pay: £30 per hour plus £3.62 holiday pay per hour.

Applicants must be available to provide in person support at University of Dundee. Work will be available from August but there may be opportunity to offer summer support from June .

Applicants should have:

A degree (any subject) and;

A teaching qualification (Level 7 or above) OR a PGCert in Autism and;

Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules:

Understanding autism

Autism and communication

Autism and sensory experience

Autism, stress and anxiety

Autism: supporting families

Autism and Girls

OR

Optimum Student Support training course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies

It is desirable that applicants have experience in a similar role within the last five years. Applicants should also have an understanding of the impact of disabilities in the further/higher education context.

By the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act. This post is also subject to satisfactory references, a background check under the PVG Scheme, as well as other applicable pre-employment checks.
