ABOUT MUSTARD SQUAD HQ:
We're launching a data-driven, family-friendly video series investigating baseball stadiums across America. Think "Mythbusters meets Good Mythical Morning at ballparks."
We're starting with Minor League Baseball (where the stories are quirkier and access is easier), with plans to expand to college baseball, independent leagues, and eventually MLB. We score every stadium on our proprietary scorecard and find the coolest souvenir at each park.
This is Mustard Squad HQ - mission control for stadium investigations.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is a 3-month PROOF OF CONCEPT (April-June We're producing 3 videos to test the format, audience, and business model. If successful, this becomes a full-time role with equity potential.
YOUR ROLE:
You'll run the day-to-day operations:
- Research stadiums and write 10-12 minute scripts (educational + comedic tone)
- Coordinate with freelance hosts, videographers, and editors
- Manage production from pre-production through publishing
- Upload/schedule content to YouTube and social platforms
- Monitor analytics and community engagement
- Report to founder (weekly async updates + monthly video call)
This is NOT just a writer role. You're the COO running operations. I'm the CEO making strategic decisions. You need to be comfortable making 90% of decisions independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- 5+ years media production experience
- Have managed teams and freelancers before
- Proven ability to run operations with minimal oversight
- Strong written communication (we're async-first)
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Portfolio showing content you've produced/managed (not just created)
Nice to Have:
- Sports knowledge (baseball preferred, but we can teach this)
- Comedy writing experience
- YouTube content strategy experience
- Experience with family-friendly content
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Someone who can:
- Take a brief and run with it (minimal hand-holding)
- Make smart decisions under uncertainty
- Solve problems proactively
- Balance creative quality with deadlines/budgets
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Work independently across time zones (founder is in Singapore)
COMMITMENT:
- 20 hours/week, April-June 2026 (March prep work possible)
- Remote position (US-based preferred for time zone alignment)
- Must be available during baseball season (April-September if we scale)
COMPENSATION:
- $2,500/month for 3-month proof of concept ($7,500 total guaranteed)
- If successful and we scale: $4,500/month full-time + performance based bonuses
- Long-term potential: Build this into a significant media property with increasing compensation tied to business growth
THE TEST:
In 3 months, we'll produce 3 high-quality videos and evaluate:
- Content quality and audience response
- Your ability to run operations
- Business viability
- Clear decision point: scale or stop

ABOUT THE FOUNDER:
Mustard Squad HQ is a bootstrapped startup with committed funding for a proper proof of concept. The founder brings business experience and is personally invested in building this the right way. This is a real business test with clear metrics and decision-making, not a hobby project. Time commitment is limited (10 hours/week), which is why we need someone who can truly own operations.
