We are delighted to be offeringa 2 year fixed term post for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our small and friendly Adult team within Powys Teaching Health Board. The post would suit a newly qualified Speech & Language Therapist, or an existing band 5 therapist looking to further their skills and experience. You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience working in a wide range of clinical areas including Community Hospitals, Outpatient clinics, patients own homes and care homes in North Powys. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an ability to work independently but also work well within a team. Main duties of the job You will be working within the Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy team providing assessment, diagnosis and intervention/management for adults presenting with acquired communication difficulties and Dysphagia arising from a range of aetiologies. You will have the opportunity to work in a range of clinical areas supporting adults and their families/carers, who have a range of speech, language, communication and swallowing needs. The post will also provide the opportunity to work 1 day a week within the Adult learning Disability Service. You will be supported by a team of Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists across a range of specialisms. The post holder will be well supported and be part of our band 5 peer supervision network, as well as being supported to complete RCSLT NQP competencies (if required). We have regular supervision sessions and have a strong ethos on supporting staff to develop alongside the trusts appraisal system. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
