About the Role and Service
We are seeking experienced Band 4 Dental Nurses for an exciting internal secondment opportunity to work as a Band 5 Dental nurse within the Dental Information and Advice Line (DIAL) Service. This secondment is part of the services plans to enhance the business continuity planning and resilience of the service.
The NHS Grampian Dental Information and Advice Line (DIAL) is a telephone-based critical service who provides urgent care triage for adults and children who require access to emergency dental care.
As a Dental Information and Advice Line Nurse, you will be part of a small team who:
1. assess and triage patients and give an emergency dental appointment if required with participating dental clinics.
2. provide advice for dental problems
3. provide details of NHS dentists currently registering patients.

Requirements
This is an exceptionally busy team; the post holders will be the first point of contact for patients. So good communication, interpersonal and IT skills are essential with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The successful applicants should have excellent organisational skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team. Candidates must be able to work under pressure to meet changing deadlines and priorities.
7. Current Band 4 Dental Nurse within NHS Grampian Public Dental Service or Dental Hospital and School
8. GDC Registration and compliance with statutory and mandatory training
9. Excellent communication skills
Hours and Salary
Both secondment opportunities are on a part - time basis. Applications are welcomed from full time staff who will continue to work within their current service to make up their current hours.
Part time Options:
10. Secondment Band 5 Dental Nurse - 1 x 0.6 WTE / 22.2 hours (3 days - Monday to Friday)
11. Secondment Band 5 Dental Nurse -1 x 0.4 WTE / 14.8 hours (2 Days - Monday to Friday)
Salary: Band 5 (£33,247 £41,424 pro - rata)
