We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to have overall responsibility for the ME function across the Torquay site. As a member of the site management team, you will have responsibility for improving and defining new products for the release to manufacture following their design phase in site or central development engineering. You’ll also be in control of managing cost improvement objectives and technical support of the operational function.Responsibilities; Provide technical support to manufacturing with respect to product/process design and functionalityRetain the relationship with the Product Management and Product Engineering to ensure constant collaboration. Involvement with projects and in some instances take the lead with customer communication Manage technical issue escalation process from manufacturing, with the appropriate level of on hand shop floor support in each production areaDrive implementation and maintenance of LEAN and CI practices across the organisationAchieve budget for labour and material cost reduction in agreement with site objectivesDrive disruptive cost reduction plans into existing processes Resolve issues with manufacturing when product quality risks are identifiedManage transfer of NPI to release to manufacture, optimising cost through process, material, and yield in collaboration with Product & Development Engineering and ManufacturingSupport the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when requiredEstablish and maintain best practice operational process for clean rooms.
