Alternative Heat specialises in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of Off-site Prefabricated solutions for the commercial M&E sectors throughout Ireland, UK, and mainland Europe. Through continuous investment within our teams, and our facilities, we have grown strongly over the years and established ourselves as a leader within the offsite pre-fabrication industry throughout Ireland and the UK.
Due to accelerated growth plans, we wish to expand our Talent Acquisition team by integrating a 2nd Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist (1 Year Fixed Term) to join our busy People & Talent team in our fabulous Head Quarters based in Banbridge & our brand new facility in Dundalk. You will work alongside our existing Talent Acquisition Specialists to generate talent pipelines and lead our growth strategy. This post is fixed term contract for 1 year.

Role
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be a critical force in identifying and securing top-tier talent across our manufacturing and assembly operations. Your strategic approach and operational expertise will ensure the right people are in place to keep our production moving and our business growing. You’ll also act as a trusted partner to stakeholders across HR and operations, continuously improving our approach to recruiting in an ever-evolving and scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full-cycle recruitment process for all manufacturing and assembly positions, including requisition management, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
* Develop and implement a strategic workforce plan specific to manufacturing and production roles, aligning recruitment activities with short- and long-term business goals.
* Act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers, providing market insights, recruitment best practices, and proactive recommendations to improve hiring outcomes.
* Conduct needs assessments and hiring forecasts with operations leadership, HR business partners, and production teams to proactively plan and pipeline talent.
* Source passive candidates through CV Library, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, manufacturing networks, local training centres, and community partnerships.
* Lead employer branding efforts in the manufacturing sector by promoting the company as an employer of choice through job fairs, local outreach, digital campaigns, and strategic partnerships.
* Establish and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles, particularly in skilled trades and technical areas of mechanical engineering, manufacturing and assembly.
* Manage relationships with external staffing vendors, technical schools, and workforce development programs to support flexible staffing needs and grow a skilled labour force.
* Optimise recruitment processes and tools to improve speed, quality, and efficiency, including AI, ATS optimisation, automation, and screening techniques.
* Track and report on recruiting metrics and KPIs such as time-to-fill, quality of hire, offer acceptance rate, and sourcing effectiveness; use data to drive continuous improvement.
* Facilitate structured interview and selection processes that ensure fairness, consistency, and alignment with role requirements and competencies.
* Coach and train hiring managers on effective interviewing, bias mitigation, and selection techniques suited to technical and frontline roles.
* Coordinate with HR and training teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires and alignment with learning and development initiatives.
* Manage high-volume recruiting initiatives and future project ramp-ups, ensuring rapid hiring while maintaining quality standards.
* Conduct regular market analysis and salary benchmarking to stay competitive in attracting top-tier production and assembly talent.
* Serve as a mentor and knowledge resource for junior recruiters and coordinators, providing guidance on recruiting strategies, candidate engagement, and compliance.
* Ensure full compliance with labour laws, safety standards, and hiring regulations, particularly within regulated environments.
* Identify process inefficiencies and recommend scalable solutions to meet growing talent demands in manufacturing operations.
* Participate in continuous improvement projects related to talent acquisition systems, technologies, and workforce strategy initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will have…
* Proven recruitment experience with experience of managing multiple recruitment campaigns in ROI & the UK.
* Proven ability to manage high volume recruitment campaigns.
* Demonstratable experience of ensuring “best practice” recruitment methods.
* Previous experience of on-line recruitment systems.
* Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above to include Maths and English.
* Full clean UK / ROI driving license as you will be based at both Banbridge & Dundalk Facilities.
