We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistantto work in a secondary schoolin Wythenshawefrom September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role ideal for a TA who has prior experience supporting pupils at secondary level.
The school is a large, inclusive academy that serves a diverse community. With a strong pastoral team and a commitment to raising standards, the school is looking for a TA who shares their drive for improvement and commitment to every child’s success.
Your Key Duties Will Include:
* Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in and out of the classroom
* Working with small groups and individuals, including those with SEND and EHCPs
* Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management
* Supporting the behaviour and emotional needs of pupils in line with the school's policies
* Liaising with SENCOs and teachers to ensure progress targets are met
* Providing literacy, numeracy, or pastoral support during interventions
Essential Requirements:
* A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or higher)
* Previous experience working in a secondary school (this is essential)
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills
* Experience supporting students with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH
* A calm, confident, and adaptable approach
* A genuine interest in pupil development and education
Desirable:
* Team Teach or other behaviour training
* Experience with EHCPs or learning plans
* Experience supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
