What You’ll Be Doing
4. Leading Year 6 Teaching & Learning – Plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the curriculum, with a strong focus on preparing pupils for end-of-KS2 SATs.
5. Raising Aspirations – Support pupils not just academically but emotionally, building their resilience and confidence as they get ready for the big step into Year 7.
6. Targeted Intervention – Work closely with teaching assistants and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions for pupils who need extra support, particularly in maths, reading, and writing.
7. Parental Partnerships – Build strong relationships with families, keeping them engaged and informed about their child’s progress.
8. Enrichment Opportunities – Bring learning to life through trips, workshops, and creative projects – giving pupils memorable experiences to end their time in primary with pride.
9. Team Collaboration – Be part of a dedicated upper KS2 team, sharing planning, moderating assessments, and contributing to whole-school initiatives.
About You
10. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in KS2 (ideally Year 6).
11. A proven ability to raise standards and support pupils in achieving their full potential.
12. Strong classroom management skills, balancing high expectations with warmth and care.
13. Flexible, organised, and resilient – ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of a busy Year 6 class.
14. A genuine passion for making learning engaging, purposeful, and fun.
