Title: Property Compliance Officer
Location: Hybrid – office based in Lewes, with travel throughout Sussex
Salary: £33,951 per year, plus £1,000 essential car user allowance, pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
What you’ll be doing:
We are recruiting for a brand-new role to join our Property Services team, ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met in relation to landlord property safety and compliance responsibilities.
The role will see liaison with tenants, staff, contractors and head landlords, as well as the development of systems and administrative processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
What you’ll need for the role:
A strong understanding and knowledge of relevant property compliance and health and safety legislation and the application of appropriate policies and procedures to support landlord compliance.
Experience in the housing sector, particularly in regulated environments and property compliance.
Managing complex data sets relating to property safety and compliance, interrogating compliance certification to ascertain validity and in order to identify of follow-up actions.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to identify non-compliance or gaps in data or reporting.
Experience of building effective partnerships and links with a range of internal teams and external organisations.
A Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which will be paid for by Southdown.
A full driving licence is essential along with access to your own vehicle or a vehicle insured for you.
