About Us
The Lorraine Foundation is a registered charity committed to bringing joy, healing, and imagination to disadvantaged children across Australia through free creative resources, books, and literacy-based programs. We're entering an exciting phase of establishment and are looking for a passionate Treasurer to join our Board and help steer our financial sustainability.
About the Role
As Treasurer, you’ll oversee the financial governance of the Foundation, working closely with the Chairperson, Secretary, and General Manager to ensure compliance, transparency, and long-term viability.
* Monitor the Foundation’s financial health and ensure sound budgeting and cashflow management.
* Prepare and present monthly reports and the Annual Financial Statement at the AGM.
* Ensure compliance with ACNC and fundraising reporting requirements.
* Liaise with the external auditor and support the preparation of audited accounts.
* Approve expenses (under delegated thresholds) and oversee donations and grants tracking.
* Guide the Board on financial decisions and ensure ethical financial conduct.
* Review and help refine financial systems, especially as we scale initiatives like the Imagine Packs and Toy & Book Appeals.
We’re Looking For Someone Who :
* Has experience in financial management, bookkeeping, accounting, or nonprofit finance.
* Understands (or willing to learn) charity compliance, ACNC obligations, and preferably DGR requirements.
* Is aligned with our mission of uplifting disadvantaged children through creativity and reading.
* Can commit to attending monthly Board meetings (online) and providing timely financial oversight.
* CPA or CA qualification is desirable but not essential.
