Financial Controller
Location: Livingston, West Lothian
Salary: £40, - £45, per annum
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temp to Perm (4-month temp period with the potential to go permanent) Open to offering a permanent role straight away for the right person.

The Role
As the Financial Controller, you'll be at the heart of our client's finance function. You'll take ownership of the numbers, help shape financial strategy, and work closely with operational teams to drive performance. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a role where your input will be valued from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
Here's a flavour of what your day-to-day might look like:
1. Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts
2. Leading budgeting and forecasting processes
3. Managing cash flow and working capital
4. Preparing year-end accounts and liaising with auditors
5. Handling VAT returns, payroll, and statutory submissions
6. Supporting operational teams with financial insights and analysis
7. Improving financial controls and processes
8. Driving cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives
9. Getting stuck into ERP system improvements and data integrity
10. Potentially mentoring junior finance staff
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
11. Solid experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
12. Strong understanding of manufacturing finance and cost accounting
13. Confident with Excel and accounting software
14. Great attention to detail and a proactive mindset
15. Able to work independently and meet deadlines
16. Clear communicator who can build strong relationships across the business
Nice-to-haves:
17. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
18. Experience with ERP systems like Sage, SAP, or Oracle
19. Previous experience in a manufacturing business or SME environment
