Purchasing Officer
£30,000 – £35,000 | Reports to: Commercial Director | Department: Purchasing
About the Role
A well-established project-led business is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support day-to-day procurement and inventory operations. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and managing monthly stock takes.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone organised, detail-driven, and commercially aware.
Key Responsibilities
* Procure goods and services in line with approved budgets
* Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
* Raise and manage purchase orders
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery or quality issues
* Conduct and reconcile monthly stock takes, investigating discrepancies
* Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records
* Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies
Requirements
* Experience in a purchasing or procurement role
* Experience with stock control and inventory reconciliation
* Proficient in purchasing systems and Microsoft Office
* Strong negotiation and analytical skills
* High attention to detail and strong organisational ability
* Clear and professional communication skills
