This video provides a glimpse of what it's like to work at our Trust and why staff enjoy being part of our team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven Occupational Therapist to join our Hip Fracture Early Supported Discharge Team, which includes Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants, and Nurses. The team provides functional and personalized rehabilitation to patients in their homes.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help patients regain independence and quality of life after hip fractures. You will work autonomously at times and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to assess and treat patients across Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, and South West Essex. You will also have support to develop the role of the Occupational Therapist within the team, and gain skills in audit and recruitment.
We seek a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient-centered rehabilitation. Candidates must have relevant clinical experience, be a driver, and be willing to participate in 7-day and twilight shifts.
Main duties of the job
* Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services using a holistic approach to maximize patient potential.
* Teach and supervise peers, junior staff, and students on placement.
Working for our organisation
Our organisation is continuously improving, driven by a commitment to deliver high-quality care. We are no longer in special measures; we have opened new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital, and our CEO has been recognized as a top leader in the health sector.
We operate from two main sites—King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford—with busy emergency departments serving over 330,000 visitors last year. We are campaigning for funding to transform Queen’s A&E and eliminate corridor care.
Our services include 12-hour CDCs open 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually. Our staff come from diverse backgrounds, with over 8,000 employees from 146 countries, many working flexibly. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer and are introducing an electronic patient record system to improve staff and patient experience.
