Critical Environment Field Service Engineer - 3 month rolling contract - Hybrid working - INSIDE IR35 - No Sponsorship Available
Responsibilities
Data Center Operations:
1. Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
2. Engages with appropriate teams and resources to execute tasks or projects.
3. Manages programs associated with area of responsibility.
4. Follows and adheres to safety and security policies and procedures. Reports immediately any safety or security issues or concerns.
5. Participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process as appropriate.
6. Lead or participate in incident response activities for critical infrastructure failures, ensuring minimal downtime and effective recovery processes.
7. Proactively identify potential risks or vulnerabilities in the critical environment and implement strategies for mitigation.
8. Manage relationships with external vendors for equipment maintenance, repairs, and emergency services.
9. Help support and provide ongoing knowledge sharing to other team members to enhance their knowledge of critical environment systems and protocols.
Service Delivery
10. Maximize Critical Environment (CE) availability in conjunction with our landlord partners at our leased Datacenters and to ensure optimal operational efficiency
11. Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in our leased Datacenters (MOP/SOP/EOP review, RCAs, FMEAs, change governance, and risk mitigation)
12. Reduce high-impact and human-error Critical Environment (CE) incidents year over year
13. Deliver on cost/energy efficiency initiatives
14. Support delivery of the Datacenter’s Emergency Preparedness and Response plans and act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within our leased datacenters
15. Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise CE audits and compliance verification as needed
16. Ensure routine reporting to effectively manage and analyze our Power/Temperature/Relative
17. Humidity, and SLA monitoring
18. Data Center Work Environment
19. Suggests ways for reducing risk of performing maintenance; works with others to accommodate scheduling needs.
20. Suggests improvements in implementation based on depth of understanding.
Ownership
21. In alignment with management priorities, holds self-accountable for the end-to-end service quality, completeness, and resulting customer experience (including but not limited to availability, safety, security, customer service).
22. Supports escalation of issues to appropriate owner.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
23. High School Diploma or equivalent AND 4+ year(s) industry experience in a datacenter or other critical environment facility,
24. OR 3+ years industry experience and college course work.
25. Previously held senior authorized person or authorized person for mechanical or electrical.
Preferred Qualifications:
26. 3+ years’ experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (, UPS, Generator, AHU)
27. Bachelor’s Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or services
28. experience working on large scale CE projects
29. experience with the operation of IT infrastructure (Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)

Feet: Lace-up steel or composite toe-boots which cover the ankle, has a slip resistant sole, and meets specifications set-forth in the American Society of Testing Material (ASTM) International Standard
F2413-05, Standard Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective
