Duties:
6. Ensuring the ongoing safety and roadworthiness of HGVs and plant machinery
7. Conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles and plant equipment
8. Preparing vehicles and plant for MOT inspections
9. Attending breakdowns and providing prompt solutions
10. Assisting with tyre repairs and replacements
11. Maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment
12. Keeping up-to-date with health and safety policies and industry regulations
Requirements:
13. Proven experience as an HGV or Plant Mechanic or Technician
14. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills with the ability to troubleshoot efficiently
15. Ability to strip, rebuild, and repair heavy plant machinery including engines, drive lines, and hydraulic systems
16. Experience working on crushers, screeners, excavators, loaders, dozers, and dump trucks is highly desirable
17. Valid driving licence (Category C/E preferred but not essential)
18. Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
19. Flexibility to travel between sites as required in the Bolton and surrounding areas
Hours and Logistics:
20. Garage operating hours are approximately 06:00 to 18:00 or 19:00
21. Standard contract of 40 hours per week with some flexibility
22. Sites open on Saturday mornings from 07:00 to 13:00, with overtime paid accordingly
