Patient Booking Administrator - Endoscopy:


Location: Bangor Hospital, 106 Castle Street, Bangor, BT20 4TA (On site)

Hours: 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Contract: Fixed term, 3 months (with potential extension)

Department: Patient Administration / Endoscopy Services

Salary: £25,000 per annum (pro rata)


About the Role:


Medinet is seeking a motivated and detail driven Patient Booking Administrator to support our endoscopy service delivery at Bangor Hospital. In this crucial non clinical role, you will ensure that patients receive timely, well coordinated appointments and that consultants and clinical teams have accurate, complete information to deliver safe and effective care.


You will play a central role in managing patient communications, confirming bookings, preparing clinic lists, and ensuring that all patient documentation, results, and follow up actions are processed efficiently. Your work will directly support the NHS in improving waiting list capacity and enhancing the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:


* Patient Booking & Communication
* Contact eligible patients to offer appointments in line with Trust/Health Board policies.
* Record all booking outcomes accurately on Remedy and client systems.
* Ensure patients understand their procedure information, prep instructions, and medication requirements.
* Escalate any clinical concerns or queries to the nursing team.
* Log all incoming and outgoing patient communications in line with process requirements.
* Clinical Preparation & Result Management
* Check patient results and alert consultants where action is required.
* Prepare patient notes, historical medical information, and endoscopy clinic lists.
* Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and ready for clinicians-sometimes at short notice.
* Outcome Reporting & Audit
* Accurately record clinical outcomes to ensure appropriate follow up and enable correct billing of services.
* Support audit activity, including reviewing historic outcomes and assisting with the stock taking or ordering of consumables.
* Service Improvement
* Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Medinet.
* Identify operational or policy related improvements to enhance patient flow and service quality.


About You:


Essential:

* Previous experience in patient appointment booking, ideally within the NHS.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively and professionally.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Confident using patient systems, administrative tools, and digital workflows.


Desirable:

* Experience working in theatres, endoscopy or other clinical support settings.
* Familiarity with Remedy or similar patient booking systems.
* Understanding of clinical list preparation and patient results handling.
