Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic BSE accredited echocardiographer to join our dynamic and forward thinking team. Applications would also be welcomed from echocardiographers working towards BSE accreditation and aspiring to band 7 roles. This department has a long history of successfully supporting trainees through the accreditation process.
Responsibilities
* Perform and report echocardiography across the department, including TTE, TOE, DSE, GUCH, and contrast studies, with support for structural work in interventional labs.
* Contribute to one-stop clinics for heart valve disease, oncology, heart failure, and inherited cardiac conditions.
* Support the Heart Centre at UHNM in providing tertiary cardiology and cardiothoracic services across multiple counties.
* Participate in the development of extended roles such as physiologist or scientist led heart valve surveillance clinics, Herceptin echo clinics, stress echo and TOE, and contribute to the heart failure unit development.
* Engage in continuing professional development and opportunities to present, publish or participate in conferences as available.
Qualifications & Skills
* BSE accreditation or current progression toward BSE accreditation.
* Interest in expanding duties and developing within echocardiography and related clinics.
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to departmental development.
